Kickstarted

Kickstarter is quickly becoming the go to place for funding creative projects. The next 24 hours that began on February 8th was quite a busy day for the crowdfunding company.

Casey Hopkins quickly made $1 million dollars to fund his project. Perhaps he said it best for what the future holds for fledgeling, creative entrepeneurs.

Goodbye middlemen, sayonara to the massive traditional barriers to entry... Hello bootstrapped projects like this, made without compromise, and that would otherwise never see the light of day.

Generation Flux

The wife brought home the February 2012 issue of Fast Company and urged me to read this piece by Robert Safian. A great read about a mindset we may have already known, but perhaps feared; Generation Flux.

This is less a demographic designation than a psychographic one: What defines GenFlux is a mind-set that embraces instability, that tolerates--and even enjoys--recalibrating careers, business models, and assumptions.

Is it too late to adopt this mindset?
